I looked at some cage building material today (fencing mostly) and i found some galvenized hardware cloth (which is actually metal fencing even though it says cloth...).
so my question is, is the galvenized metal an ok thing to use for cage material? its 19 Gauge wire, seems sturdy enough to me, what do you think? |

Sure! Most owners prefer their cages to be galvanized to prevent rusting. If the rats insist on chewing the bars, there's a sour apple spray you can buy to discourage it. They hate the taste!
However, if you're building a cage, I'd really recommend going with a wooden cabinet style instead of an all metal cage.

There's some information on building your own cabinet style cage! _________________ Hello from my boys, Brisby, Tweak, Lancelot and Gawain/One-Eyed Jack (it's official)!
